Book One of The Experiential Ontology Series
Everything begins with a question: What if reality is far more unified than we have imagined?
In Being Is One, Bob McAuliffe introduces the foundational ideas of Experiential Ontology—a philosophy that invites us to discover reality not merely through concepts, but through direct experience. Drawing from contemplative practice, philosophy, science, and the world's mystical traditions, the book explores the possibility that beneath every person, every creature, and every star flows a single, undivided Ground of Being.
Rather than asking readers to adopt new beliefs, Being Is One offers a different way of seeing. As the illusion of separation begins to dissolve, familiar questions about identity, meaning, suffering, love, and consciousness take on new depth and clarity.
This opening volume lays the foundation for The Experiential Ontology Series, continued in River of Awareness and Embodied Presence, where these ideas move from philosophical exploration into the lived experience of awakening, compassion, and presence.
Whether you are a lifelong seeker, a student of philosophy, or simply curious about the nature of existence, Being Is One is an invitation to begin the journey.
True transformation does not come from striving to become someone else. It begins by awakening to who we already are.
What if lasting peace isn't something you have to achieve—but something you can rediscover?

About the Author
Bob McAuliffe is an author, philosopher, and contemplative whose work explores the fundamental unity of existence through what he calls Experiential Ontology—a philosophy grounded not in abstract concepts alone, but in direct lived experience.
Drawing on a lifetime of study in philosophy, theology, contemplative practice, science, and history, Bob weaves together ideas that are often kept separate. His writing invites readers beyond belief systems and intellectual debate into a deeper encounter with the nature of being itself.
His nonfiction works—including Being Is One, River of Awareness, and Embodied Presence—form The Experiential Ontology Series, an exploration of consciousness, identity, and the Ground of Being. His Irish historical fantasy novels, beginning with The Gate of the Priestess, explore many of these same themes through story, myth, and imagination, while his poetry offers a more intimate expression of the contemplative journey.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Bob spent decades in technology leadership and financial services, bringing a systems thinker's curiosity to questions that have occupied philosophers and mystics for centuries. Today he devotes his time to writing, meditation, and helping others discover a more compassionate and expansive way of seeing themselves, one another, and the living world.
Whether through philosophy, fiction, or poetry, Bob's work shares a single invitation: to awaken to the profound interconnectedness that has always been present, and to discover that beneath our many stories, Being is One.
